Award Winning Builders

on the Mornington Peninsula

2013 MBAV Award Nomination

Our Clients presented a brief to create a new upper storey wing and redesign the area below it. The extension was designed to create two generous upstairs bedrooms with built-in robes and serviced by compact-yet-efficient shower room and separate w.c. The master suite has been specifically fashioned to take advantage of the stunning views across the property, complete with a private balcony and a sumptuous ensuite. A grand billiard room with a striking coffered ceiling, polished hardwood floor, timber dado panelling and feature lighting completes the upper storey.

Downstairs, two existing bedrooms were combined to create a bunkroom with direct outside access. The existing sitting room was reworked to create a cosy family area with a built-in wood fire and wood box. The service area was redesigned and fitted out to provide a spacious laundry, powder room and separate shower. The garage was also extended by 2.4m to create a workshop space.

A craftsman built staircase provides a spectacular link between the three levels, with custom balustrading to replicate the existing one used elsewhere in the house.

The new works were designed to replicate the feel of the existing house, with careful matching and alignment of the external finishes being an integral part of the build. Overall, a grand family home has become a luxurious retreat, designed and built in harmony with existing elements and enhancing connectivity with the surrounding landscape.
